Dr. Stojanovic is an Associate Professor of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (University of Nis, Serbia) and Visiting Professor of the Faculty of Engineering at Lakehead University (Ontario, Canada). He completed his PhD in Theoretical and Applied Mechanics in 2013 (part of the research is completed at Engenharia University of Porto). His scientific articles, published in refereed journals, including a book for Springer, involve various aspects of linear and nonlinear vibrations and dynamic stability of complex mechanical systems and structures. He has collaborated with Prof Pedro Ribeiro from Engenharia University (FEUP) on the improvements of the numerical methods in nonlinear vibrations, especially on the improvements of the p - version of the finite element method. He is an accredited member of the Serbian Society of Mechanics, accredited member of the Board of Directors of the Serbian Society of Mechanics and reviewer in several most prestigious international journals in the field of mechanics (Journal of Sound and Vibration, International Journal of Solids and Structures, Computers & Structures, Communications in Nonlinear Science and Numerical Simulation, International Journal of Mechanical Sciences, European Journal of Mechanics / A Solids). His interests are principally in the modelling of complex linear and nonlinear continuous and discrete dynamical systems, analytical and numerical methods of solutions to MDOF based models and application of the principles of dynamic and stochastic stability to engineering problems in vibration.
